Returns Policy

This Returns Policy only applies in respect of products purchased from Etrocode (PTY) LTD t/a Groupon Goods from the Groupon site or the mobile application. This returns policy does NOT apply in respect of any vouchers you purchased from Groupon which are redeemable with merchants for goods.


Returning unwanted goods: 


As described in the Terms of Sale, and subject always to the applicable laws, you have up to 7 days after you receive your Goods to cancel your contract and return your Goods, unless the fine print of the deal states the Goods cannot be returned. You may cancel your contract before you receive the Goods, but in certain circumstances we may be unable to prevent the shipment of the Goods. If we are unable to prevent the Goods from being delivered to you following the cancellation of your contract, you will still need to return the Goods to us.  Please return the Goods as soon as possible following the cancellation of your contract.  Goods must be received by us within 30 days for your cancellation to be valid. You are responsible for the return shipping costs of the Goods when you cancel your contract.  Please note that the sooner you return the Goods, the more quickly we will be able to process any credit due to you.

Once the Goods have been returned to us they will be inspected and, if applicable, a credit will be processed within 30 days.

Unwanted Goods must be returned unused and in good condition. You must take care to ensure that the Goods are properly packaged so that they will not be damaged while in transit. 


We will not credit, refund or replace Goods where, in our reasonable opinion, the Goods in question have been returned to us in an unacceptable state (due to fair wear and tear, misuse, failure to use in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, using it in an abnormal way or failure to take reasonable care). Where we refuse to credit the order, refund you or replace the Goods, we will notify you by email and you will be liable to cover the costs of the Goods being returned to you.


Once we have inspected your Goods and determined that you are entitled to a credit, refund or replacement, we will notify you of this outcome by email, and we will reimburse you the costs of returning the Goods to us.


Defective, faulty or non-conforming products:


If a product has a defect or fault existing at the time of delivery or otherwise does not conform to your order, you have a statutory right to return the product. We strongly encourage you to contact Groupon Goods as soon as you become aware of any problems. We encourage you to inspect each product carefully upon receipt. 

If you return defective, faulty or non-conforming products to us, the product will be inspected at our warehouse. If a defect or fault is found or the product does not match your order, we will be happy to provide a credit, in accordance with applicable law.

If you are eligible for a credit, refund or replacement, such credits, refunds or replacements will be processed (and shipped to the extent possible) within 30 days.

Returns process:

Goods are returned to us via collection by courier. You must follow the process outlined below to return Goods to us. Except in the case of defective, faulty or non-conforming Goods, returns not complying with these requirements may be rejected.

  1. Call Groupon Goods customer service by phone 021 201 7100 or contact us in writing here and we will set up a time for collection.
  2. Pack up your returned product, ideally in the original packaging; be sure to enclose all parts and instructions; please enclose your original delivery note (this will make processing your refund easier).
  3. Be available to sign for the collection at the agreed time.  Please be aware that this time may be scheduled by Groupon Goods customer service or by the courier who may contact you via email or phone.
  4. Please retain proof of your collection and your refund, credit or replacement will be processed within 30 days.

Groupon Goods can only accept returns of products sold by it. Any items accidentally returned to Groupon Goods cannot be re-sent to the customer. Groupon Goods will not be responsible for these items.

While the fine print of a deal will always identify if a product cannot be returned, below is a list of products that may have returns or other limitations.



Specific reasons

Baby Goods

All baby items need to be returned in original and new condition. If, upon inspection, the items appear to be used, worn or without tags, Groupon Goods will not be able to process your return.

Mattresses & Bedding

For hygiene reasons we cannot accept returns on any opened mattresses or bedding.   Bedding items include duvets, pillows, mattress toppers etc.


We cannot accept returns on any pierced body jewellery such as earrings for hygiene reasons.

Food, beverages & flowers

We do not accept returns on perishable items such as food, beverages and flowers.

Clothes, Shoes & Watches

Clothes must be returned unused and in a resalable condition with all tags.  If, upon inspection, clothes appear to be worn or without tags, Groupon Goods cannot accept returns.  We cannot accept returns on certain types of clothing such as underwear, swimwear and control wear for hygiene reasons.

Health & Beauty

We cannot accept returns on items where packaging seals have been broken due to hygiene and safety reasons.

Furniture – outdoor & indoor

We are unable to accept returns on any self-assembly products that have been partially or fully assembled, unless such products are defective or faulty.  We try to provide accurate measurements on our deal page and we are unable to accept returns where furniture will not fit through the doors at the delivery address. Products must be undamaged and unused.


Books can be returned in new condition.

CDs & DVDs

We cannot accept returns on CDs, DVDs or Software programmes if the plastic wrapping and/or security seal has been broken or of any digital downloads.

Periodicals & Magazines

We cannot accept returns of periodicals and magazines.


In order to protect your privacy and other interests in data, please delete all data on returned electronics and reset the products to factory settings. Groupon Goods is not responsible for any data contained on returned items.


If you fail to comply with the provisions of this Return Policy, Groupon Goods reserves the right to refuse returns or to charge you our fees and expenses.
